Daily Schedule

A good friend of mine pointed out to me that one of my strengths was running our household as a CEO.  She felt that other women could benefit from reading about how I run the house and could take what worked for them and implement it in their own home.  I will be the first to admit that every house works differently, and I am certainly no expert.  I find I have to be extra diligent about my time and have discipline with myself (it is amazing how much time “checking emails’ can take!)  So if you sometimes feel overwhelmed by the tasks at hand, maybe something I do will rub off on you.

In preparation of each day I do the following:
  1. Make a list
  2. Consult the list multiple times a day
  3. Enjoy the feeling of scratching things off the list

Here is a breakout of the chores I do on a weekly basis, I generally try to get most things done during nap time:

Monday
  • Clean the hardwood floors with both the vacuum and wood floor cleaner
  • Laundry
Tuesday
  • The one day to myself to do whatever I fancy

Wednesday
  • Dust and vacuum the upstairs
  • Clean the upstairs bathrooms
  • Vacuum the basement
Thursday
  • Do yard work

Friday
  • Review my inbox and schedule payment for bills
  • Dust and sweep the downstairs, including doing the wood floors again
  • Laundry

Saturday
  • Run any errands first thing in the morning

Sunday
  • Generally I do my grocery shopping in the morning while my daughter takes her nap

Once a month I do the following:

Clean kitchen cabinet doors
Clean out the refrigerator
DEEP clean the bathrooms

These items get tackled at least once a year:

Organize and purge closets
Clean all of the woodwork
Wash windows and screens
Clean and organize the inside of the kitchen cabinets
